John Galliano Fall 2011

John Galliano  -used to be one of Dior's topdesigners- was recently fired because of two incidents where he insulted people and  spouted "I love Hitler" in  drunken rant (oh yes he did!!).

Okay, people might have lost respect for this man. But his work , ladies & gentlemen,
remains divine and shouldn't be ignored.

Gabriele Vintage

I went to Gabriele Vintage downtown Brussels today with a mission ; to marvel at all those beautiful vintage treasures. I'm serious people, it's like Aladinn's Cave!

She has everything; from beautiful jackets, coats and hats to gowns and even vintage corsets
-bring on the lace-       And then I didn't even mention the shoes, oh the shoes!



Gabriele has also an extraordinary collection of accessories with sunglasses, gloves, belts to accompany the clothes.
The shop itself is really big with a great deal of clothes  for both men and women.
Furthermore you can slide through the backdoor and find yourself in some kind of boudoir-ish room with evening dresses.

This totally made my day (that and the mango iced tea I had after in the Zebra, shopping is so exhausting isn't it haha!)

Update Music All Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Rockrace & DJ-contest

Tuesday I went to check out the bands and DJ's competing each other in the annual Rock Race & DJ Contest in Brussels.  Three bands ; The Herfsts, The Black Su Love and Midnight Directives
and three DJ's :  Dare 2 Rave, Midnight Noodles, Exalt.
Each one with their own sound (duh) made it pretty hard to vote.
Winners are still to be announced, as soon as I hear the results I'll update this post.

Rits Café will be hosting the next round on the 8th of March, entrance is once again free, so come numerously to vote for your favourite band and DJ. After that there's one more qualifying round in Kultuur Kaffee on the VUB campus before the finale.
The finale for the DJ-contest will be on the 4th of May in the Fuse (or Blaes208 whatever) and for the Rock Race in the AB so there's a lot at stake!

Pin Up Calender by Gil Elvgren

Ok so it's raining cats and dogs here in Brussels at the moment so I really really need
to write something that will cheer me up!!

Let me share this with you ; I received the best present someone could ever get me!
My American Monkey gave me a Pin Up Calender with illustrations of Gil Elvgren
She found it in a cute little shop in New York. -whooptiedoo!-

Gil Elvgren was a painter of pin up girls in the twentieth century,
one of the more important pin up artists from that time ^^

His original works are worth thousands of dollars but I'll be quite happy staring

at my replicas from time to time when I'm feeling a bit depressed, there's one for every day!

Like now for example haha!
